About Broesj and Hink-Stap-Sprong Marketing

A week ago Diana from MamaMarketing asked me to answer some questions. Today she published the very nice blog post. She made a great analysis about the way I use social media. It’s in Dutch, but you should check it out (or click this Google Translate link!) Leuk!

The 15 vintage brooches I found this weekend

You might have seen these when you follow broesj via Facebook, but nevertheless I love to share them. These are the brooches I found at the IJhallen this weekend. The IJhallen are two huge hangars that are the venue for a giant flea market, every month here in Amsterdam. A must-go! Everything is super expensive though, but if you dig deep and find some non-regular vendors its worth taking a look. I’ve payed way too much for the tourist brooches but I couldn’t resist. There was a whole hat (!) covered in them. I tried to […]

Thrifted Tuesday: Vintage Kitchen Goods

There is nothing better than going to a flea market, actually needing something and finding it! I needed an egg timer and yes, I found one! I’ve payed 4 euros for this blue beauty. It fits perfectly in my new kitchen, and matched the presto cooker cookbook like a charm. I also found a fabric covered box (not so excellent condition), a grater, tongs for ice cubes, a lemon squeezer to match my others and a centrifuge (useful for lettuce or a hand wash!) Did you go thrifting this weekend? What did you find?

Mission accomplished: I moved!

Boy what a project! I know moving is a big deal, but pffff. I’m glad its done. Yes, it. is. done. I moved. I’ve let go of a lot of stuff. A lot of bags with clothes I didn’t wear, stuff that didn’t care or was broken. That felt weird (I think it probably one of the few times in years that I have gotten rid of a lot of stuff!) but good at the same time. Now I can imagine what it feels like to have a minimal house. Sort of… ;-) A lot of […]

Almost ready for the big move

The house is filled with boxes, piles of books to give away and other stuff that does not fit in a box. Unfortunately I have lost track of what I packed in which box (in the hope to even the weight of all the boxes). Oops… That will get interesting when I unpack ;-)

The Kitchen: Inspiration and Love

Since I am on a roll and all I can think of is moving, decorating and questions like ‘Is this my garlic press or my roommates’?’ I will continue to share my inspiration for the new home. Hope you can bear with me ;-) Here are some some images from my Pinterest board. I think you can sum up my taste with these main elements: – Tomado (or string shelves) – Display books / art on the wall – Plants! – White + splash of color

The Bedroom: Inspiration and Wishlist

My Pinterest followers might have noticed: I went wild. Pinning images from light rooms with colored accessories took over my feed. Check these out: Loveliest blanket, alarm clock, boxes, light, table, and finally: the pillow! Bedroom inspiration that I’ve pinned on my Home&Organize board:

Getting my very own place!

There has been a lot going on since my last post. The big news: I’m getting my own apartment. Me and my roommate were living together for three years. We shared a large living room, a kitchen and I had a small separate bedroom. For the first time in my live I actually get separate rooms! I will own a kitchen, a living room and bedroom. Woehoeheoeh! Will have to share a bathroom with two other people, but that will be fine. I am over the moon. When I first heard the news that I had to move […]

Thrifting Tuesday: Smitten Mitten!

Remember the christmas style oven mittens I found while thrifting some time ago? I have a bit of an disorder. Whenever I see something in thrift stores that belong to the same kind of collection I am immediately smitten. In this case I found two egg cups and egg warmers that were the same Tiroler Webkunst as the mittens. So I had to buy them. Vintage packaging is another problem. I wonder what the lid of this box looked like. But maybe it was plastic so you could see the treasures inside… Als ik op de rommelmarkt […]

Discovery of Dead Stock: Vintage Office Supplies

My studiomate received a small package from her father. It included a small diary, dated back to the fifties. It was in a mint condition and never used. Her dad explained that he found it in a small store in Rotterdam, which was about to close down. The owner had to sell his shop so emptied the entire stockroom. He found some crates that had been there since the shop opened. Some of the products dated around the 1940’s. Finding never used old vintage office supplies definitely on my bucket list.    I immediately had the idea […]
